Introducing the Better Exercise Physiology blog – your source of fitness, diet and health information. If you’re looking to lose weight, improve your diet, get fit, learn Pilates or just live a more health conscious life, then this is the place for you. We’ll have fortnightly posts and regular video tutorials to keep you informed and active. Along with being a great source of information and inspiration (I hope!), this blog will allow you to get all the latest updates on what we’re doing here at the clinic, be it special offers, new classes or upcoming programs.
But why a blog? Since setting up the business I find myself answering the same questions over and over. Yet in a 45 minute appointment we only get time to scratch the surface of what’s really going on. So this is my chance to get important health information out to the masses, to build a directory of answers and to cover complicated topics in detail. My goals; to spend more time helping people perfect their health and less time covering the basics.
I’ll be answering questions, providing exercise demonstrations and also getting some guest writers in to share their insights. The blog will be updated every couple of weeks with new content, so keep an eye on the Facebook page for new updates. Or if you’d prefer to get notifications straight to your inbox, just hit the link at the top of the page.
Just to give you an idea of what’s to come, here are some of the upcoming blog topics:
Why sit-ups are the worst exercise for back pain. I’m pretty sure the only possible exception to this is moving something heavy, but at least in this case you’d have the added benefit of having moved something heavy!
Should females avoid lifting weights for fear of getting muscly? It never fails to surprise me how misunderstood this topic is
How Pilates can help you lose weight. Normally the go to exercise for injuries, Pilates in fact offers a number of hidden benefits
And if you’ve got any questions of your own that you’d like answered leave a comment below and I’ll add it to the list.
